Legendary Reading FC centre-back Kaspars Gorkss revealed that he has no idea where the iconic wolf mask is after 2012 Championship-winning celebrations.

An instrumental part of Brian McDermott's title-winning side, the Latvian returned to RG2 for the first time since leaving in 2014 for the 150th anniversary legends match.

A prominent song in the squad at the time, the 'Big Bad Wolf' was regularly pumping out of the speakers in the changing room and over the PA system at the then Madejski Stadium.

Speaking to the club media after the 8-5 win over Steve Coppell's 106 team on Saturday, the former international defender said: “There is a good story about the mask, I don’t think Jem remembers it, when he said on the bus he was going to borrow it for a moment and I haven’t seen the mask back! So we will have to find a new one."

Overall Gorkss played almost 100 times for the club over three seasons, even managing to score eight goals.

One of his most important strikes was a header at Upton Park in a 4-2 win over promotion-rivals West Ham, a goal which he still looks back at fondly.

Reading Chronicle:

“The West Ham away goal", he started. "Whenever I am asked what is my favourite goal that is definitely up there and the one I try and show them. It was a special moment and those are the crucial games.

"I remember having a list of the last ten games of the season when we were trying to get promoted and I ticked off every game and I knew after the West Ham game there was no coming back, nothing going to stop us getting promoted.”
