Reading have announced their released and retained list, with five first team stars offered new contracts.

As things stand, 14 first team players are set to leave at the end of next month, but talks are underway to sign on five fan favourites for next season.

Academy graduates Tom Holmes, Andy Rinomhota and Femi Azeez, alongside Josh Laurent and Player of the Season Andy Yiadom, have been offered extensions.

Alongside this, youth products Nelson Abbey, Jeriel Dorsett, Imari Samuels, Claudio Osorio, Kian Leavy, Rashawn Scott, Kelvin Ehibhatomhan and Nahum Melvin-Lambert have all been offered new professional deals.

Reading Chronicle:

Inevitably there were to be players not deemed to be required by the club, and 10 players in total are confirmed to be leaving Reading.

Terell Thomas, Brandon Barker, Orjan Nyland, Felipe Araruna, Alen Halilovic and Marc McNulty from the first team; alongside Ethan Bristow, James Holden, Lynford Sackey, Malachi Talent-Aryeetey have been told they are departing next month.

Mamadi Camara, Jahmari Clarke, Tyrell Ashcroft, and Louie Holzman have all been offered professional deals following the culminations of their scholarships.

With the club under a soft embargo for breaching Profit and Sustainabilty regulations, Reading have a series of stringent parameters to abide by.

In a short statement released by the club, they have reassured fans that “All the offers made to players have been made within the strict financial parameters in which we are permitted to operate in accordance with the EFL restrictions that remain in place.”
