Reading have offered key star John Swift a new three-year contract, according to reports.

The Vice President’s Player of the Year and Player’s Player of the Year winner notched 11 goals and 13 assists in the 2021/2022 campaign but is out of contract next month.

Berkshire Live had reported that the club were making a “last ditch attempt” to keep him at the SCL Stadium after heightened interest from West Brom.

A fresh report from the outlet claim that the talks went well and that a new deal is on the table.

It goes on to say “Representatives of the player are believed to have been extremely impressed by the Royals' new head of football Mark Bowen in a meeting this past week, with the Welshman outlining the club's position and plans moving forward.”

The 26-year-old joined Reading in 2016 and has gone on to make more than 200 appearances for the club.
