A CYCLIST has been rushed to hospital with serious head injuries following a crash earlier today.

Emergency services said they received "multiple 999 calls" at around 10.50am on Thursday morning following reprots of a crash between a taxi and a cyclist.

Police have cordoned off King's Road in Reading.

A spokesman said: "We sent an ambulance, a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance (which landed at Reading Boys’ School) to the incident.

"The female cyclist had sustained a serious head injury and following initial treatment at the scene has now been taken by road to the major trauma unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, with the TVAA team travelling with her to hospital due to the seriousness of her condition."
