Former Reading FC manager Mark Bowen is rumoured to be returning to the SCL Stadium in an executive role.
The Welshman was in charge of AFC Wimbledon for the last few months of the 2021/22 season, unable to prevent their slide into League Two- but did not sign a new contract with the London side due to 'taking a role much higher up the pyramid'.

I understand that former boss Mark Bowen is set to be appointed by the club this week in an executive role pic.twitter.com/xeZa0ceRLQ
First arriving as Technical Consultant in 2019, Bowen was made first team manager in October 2019 and guided the side to a comfortable 14th place before being dismissed ahead of the 2020/21 season and replaced by Veljko Paunovic.
There were attempts to keep him at the club at a boardroom level but this was turned down.
According to BerkshireLive, Bowen is set to rejoin the club in an 'executive role.'
Supporters have been crying out for a figure to come in and assist the manager from above, with this appointment perhaps keeping fans onside ahead of a tricky summer ahead.
