A MAN was stabbed repeatedly in a robbery in Reading.

The victim, in his 20’s, was sat in the park behind Linden Road when he was approached by an unknown man between 2.30 and 3.30pm yesterday (May 7).

The man then stabbed the victim before taking his backpack containing bank cards, cash and house keys.

The attacker then fled the scene towards South Whitley.

The victim suffered stab wounds to his back, elbow and stomach and required hospital treatment but has since been discharged.

The offender is described as of stocky build wearing a black tracksuit and a black balaclava.

Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses following the incident.

Detective Constable Rebecca Oliver, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about this incident to please come forward.

“If you have any CCTV footage in the area or any dash-cam footage if you were in the area around the time, I’d also ask that you check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist our investigation.
