Reading FC ended their 2021/21 home campaign with a 1-0 defeat to West Brom after a late strike from Karlan Grant.

Here are the player ratings.

Orjan Nyland- 6: Average performance from the Norway international. Distribtution could have been better but made some good saved and could do nothing about the Baggies goal.

Terell Thomas- 6: Debut for the former AFC Wimbledon defender. Started shaky but got better as the game went on. Looked good going forward too. Limped off on 62 minutes.

Michael Morrison- 6: Caught flat-footed for the West Brom goal and distribution could have been better, but overall not a terrible performance. Rallied the defence well.

Tom McIntyre- 6: No late goal heroics this time around but a valiant block to the face instead. Solid but not spectacular.

Reading Chronicle:

Baba Rahman- 6: Quiet game but did not do much wrong. Most attacks seemed to come down the other flank.

Danny Drinkwater- 6: Played some glorious passes and always looked the make something happen. Did make some misplaced passes throughout though.

Tom Dele-Bashiru- 6: Bright but largely ineffective. Had some spark but mostly overrun.

Josh Laurent- 6: A key performer in his two years with the Royals, a quiet game today.

Junior Hoilett- 7: Best player on the pitch, particularly in the first half, as every attack came from him. Could easily have had one or two assists to his name today.

Ovie Ejaira- 6: Looked good for 20 minutes against Hull and looked bright throughout today. End product questionable but usually a joy to watch.

Reading Chronicle:

Lucas Joao- 5: Struggled from start to finish, nothing was sticking for the Angola international. A talisman for the club in his time in Berkshire, today was not his day.

Subs:

Yakou Meite- 6: Only played final 10 minutes.
