Reading FC are vying for the signature of AFC Wimbledon striker Zach Robinson, according to reports.

Football League World claim that the 19-year-old forward, who’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, is a potential target for the Royals alongside a host of other clubs.

The likes of Derby County, Oxford United and Wigan Athletic are thought to have been interested in the player.

The Wombles are currently fighting relegation to League Two, four points behind Gillingham with six up for grabs.

Spending the first half of the season out on loan to Hemel Hempstead Town and Hampton & Richmond Borough, the teenager has scored one goal in six appearances for the phoenix club this term.

He also notched six in 12 appearances in the National League South.

The forward is currently expected to be out for two to three weeks, which at this stage of the year will rule him out for the rest of the current campaign, with a hamstring issue.

The report goes on to claim that Wimbledon are keen on extending his stay, but with Reading potentially two divisions higher than the London-club come the summer- it may be a difficult sell.
