Landowners in Reading have been busy at work submitting planning applications for changes this week.

The biggest plan submitted is to replace a warehouse in Caversham with seven new homes.

Planners have been particularly busy in Tilehurst as well.

A car wash company wants to use the land of a closed pub for its own operations, and two homeowners have applied to make substantial extensions to their homes.

Replacement of warehouse with homes in Caversham (220350)

TOCM Properties Ltd have applied to knock down a warehouse and replace it with two new builds.

The warehouse and office is called Onc House, and the owners want to knock it down and replace it with six three-bedroom homes and one two-bedroom house.

Six of the new homes would be contained in one building, with another stand alone home being built.

Each home would come with two parking spaces.

A similar application for 12 homes on the site was recently refused.

Substantial extensions to home in Tilehurst (220504)

Homeowner Aman Minhas has applied to build a two storey front and side extension and single storey rear extension to his house at 39 Circuit Lane in Tilehurst.

The extensions would allow Mr Minhas to create a reception room, living room, dining room and bathroom on the ground floor.

Upstairs, the extension would allow for the creation of a new master bedroom with an ensuite.

Request to use land at closed pub for car wash (220514)

Here, Carwash Five Star Ltd has applied to use land at the closed Restoration pub to use it for a car wash.

Both the pub and land next to it are boarded up.

The car wash company wants to use some of the land that is boarded up to use as a car wash for up to 18 months.

Earlier this year, a developer submitted a plan to demolish the pub and replace it with 18 apartments.

A homeowner in Tilehurst has applied to replace a garage with a two storey extension to 277 Overdown Road, a semi-detached house.

The extension would provide the owners with a new dining room, store and washroom on the ground floor, and an additional bedroom and bathroom on the first floor.

It is understood 277 Overdown Road is located in West Berkshire, but neighbours in Reading are allowed to give their comments.
