A Josh Laurent strike in the final 10 minutes salvaged a point for Paul Ince's Royals against relegation rivals Barnsley at Oakwell.

Take a look at our player ratings below

Orjan Nyland- 6: The new dad has been a revelation since arriving from Bournemouth, and had another solid performance in Yorkshire. Question marks raised over the Tykes goal but marshalled the defence well.

Andy Yiadom- 6: Coming up against his former side, the Ghana international was a constant threat going forward and did his job well defensively in difficult conditions.

Reading Chronicle:

Michael Morrison- 7: One of his better performances of the season, the experienced centre-half was constantly directly his defensive partners. As well as defending well, he was a threat going forward, providing John Swift with the ammunition to test Brad Collins in the Barnsley net, and his cool flick provided the assit for Laurent's late equaliser.

Tom Holmes- 6: Solid performance for the Academy graduate, definitely helped by playing alongside the veteran Morrison. Was not as eye-catching as his centre-back partner but did his job.

Tom McIntyre- 6: Still being forced to play out of position, Carlton Morris opened the scoring from the Scotland youth international's side. Shaky in the first half, the Academy graduate grew into the game and became a threat going forward. Constantly targetted by opponents and has room for improvement defending 1v1.

Josh Laurent- 6: Manager Ince described his performance as 'not one of his better ones' and was about to be hooked before slamming home the leveller. However, he was still combative and always looked to go forwards.

Reading Chronicle:

Danny Drinkwater- 7: The loanee's best performance in a Reading shirt, Drinkwater stepped into Andy Rinomhota's shoes seemlessly. Strong in the tackle and smart on the ball, the former England international has come in for stick from Royals fans, but he won't be for much longer if he continues with performances such as this.

Ovie Ejaria- 6: Started bright and had an early chance to give Reading the lead in the first four minutes, however the former Liverpool midfielder faded in the second half and was pulled for Tom Dele-Bashiru.

Tom Ince- 6: Strong and determined throughout, the Stoke City loanee missed the cutting edge that he had provided in previous appearances. Was booked in the second half for diving but continued with endeavour until the final minute.

John Swift- 7: The talismanic midfielder was a constant thorn in the Tykes side and they could not get a grip of the former Chelsea player. Whipping in dangerous crosses and providing intricate passes throughout, his best impact was in the final 20 when Ince moved him out wide.

Reading Chronicle:

Lucas Joao- 6: A marked man from minute one, Joao had three defenders for company for most of the match. The Angola international had an early penalty shout waved away and a second half strike blocked before the goal. A quiet game by his standards.

Substitution

Tom Dele-Bashiru- 6: First appearance under Ince, and impressed. Ran hard and kept the ball ticking over. Could have a bigger impact with Rinomhota out for the season.
