Two Reading Academy prospects have signed their first professional contracts for the club.

Kelvin Abrefa and Jack Senga have both been frequent names on the Royals team sheets this season, with Abfrefa making his debut for the first team last month against Coventry City.

The right-sided player has made almost 20 appearances this season across the Under-18s and Under-23s squads, contributing with a goal and an assist.

Senga, a Belgian centre-half, made his English football debut on loan at neighbours Maidenhead United in the National League, as well as playing 11 matches for the Royals youth sides.

He was included on the bench against both Swansea City and Kidderminster Harriers in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup respectively but is still waiting to make his first team bow.

Both 18-years-old, their contracts run until 2024.

Academy Manager, Michael Gilkes, said "I'm delighted that Kelvin and Jack, two promising young footballers we have watched mature as both players and people within our Academy system, have agreed to professional terms with the club.

"Still only 18, they have thrived in competitive Under-23s football and experienced the first team environment this season and I look forward to watching them take the next step in their careers."
