Reading FC manager Paul Ince was "embarrassed" as his Royals side lost 4-0 to Nottingham Forest this afternoon.

Going 1-0 down after just 18 seconds, high-flying Reds ripped Reading apart in the second half in the East Midlands.

Talking to the media after the route, he said: "Embarrasing. You can see why this team leak goals, they’ve got a soft underbelly which has been there all season or they wouldn’t be where they are.

"You set up with a game plan, 18 seconds gone and it’s out the window. You can’t be conceding after 18 seconds."

The opening goal came from kick-off as right-back Djed Spence got the better of makeshift left-back Tom McIntyre.

Ince said that they had discussed Spence in particular, and how to stop him, yet the Royals couldn't.

He fumed: "We told them before the game about Djed Spence, we worked on it, we’ve shown them enough on it and before you know it we’re 1-0 down."

Despite losing 1-0 at half-time, Ince's side were in the game after good chances from Yakou Meite and Michael Morrison.

Three goals in the final 30 minutes sealed victory for the Tricky Trees, and Ince was less than pleased with the attitude of his squad.

He contimued: "Saying that, after that we were great, they didn’t have a shot in the rest of the first half, we had two wonderful chances. I go in at half time and I’m not happy that we’re losing but I’m content with what I’ve seen. We’re in it.

"Then all of a sudden you lose the second goal and they capitulated.  You cant be like that. You can’t capitulate."
