Two Reading establishments have been nominated for prestigious industry awards this week.

Double-Barrelled Brewery in Reading, and Fox & Hounds Beerhouse in Caversham, have been nominated for awards at the Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) Awards 2022.

The SIBA Awards is a national award ceremony for those in the brewing trade, from the brewing itself to the outlets at which the beer is sold.

Double Barrelled Brewery, a brewery and taproom on Stadium Way, have been nominated in the UK’s Best Independent Craft Brewery Taproom category, while the Fox and Hounds have been nominated for UK’s Best Independent Craft Beer Bar or Pub – Rural.

The awards will be presented on Wednesday, March 16 at BeerX UK in Liverpool by beer journalist Pete Brown.

Chair of Judges, Neil Walker, said on the competition website: “Massive congratulations to all of this year’s finalists – not only did we see a huge sixty percent increase in entries compared to last year but the quality of entries was genuinely astounding, with some truly inspiring businesses in the running. To have made it this far and been named a finalist in the 2022 awards is a huge achievement, and I wish you all the best of luck when we announce the overall winners at BeerX UK in Liverpool next month.”
