With Valentine’s Day approaching, no doubt you’re wondering where to take your special someone.

Although there is always pressure to do something lavish and expensive, sometimes the best dates are the simple ones.

We have listed five romantic walks you and your Valentine can take this week.

  1. Cliveden House

Reading Chronicle:

The Taplow mansion sits in 365 acres of sprawling gardens and woodlands. This National Trust property is complete with shops and a café, as well as the opportunity to stay overnight in the boutique hotel. A must for Berkshire romantics.

  1. Caversham Promenade

Reading Chronicle:

Who doesn’t love a walk along the Thames?! With ample nearby parking, a walk along the River and crossing over to Caversham for tea and cake on the High Street is a must for those living in Reading. The beauty with this walk is that you’re in control of the distance, it goes on as far as London, so when you have had enough you can simply turn around and head back for a romantic meal for two!

  1. Englefield Estate

Reading Chronicle:

The stunning Englefield Estate gardens are open every Monday from 10am-4pm, giving you an opportunity to wander through the beautifully kept greenery, or even sit down for a romantic picnic in front of the privately owned Englefield House.

  1. Swinley Forest

Reading Chronicle:

A Bracknell favourite, Swinley Forest is over 2,600 acres of sprawling woodland and a maze of footpaths into the countryside. Host to the Look Out Discovery centre, if you and your Valentine fancy a more white-knuckle experience, Go Ape is also an option.

  1. Sulham and Tidmarsh Woods

Reading Chronicle:

The 187-acre woodland in Tilehurst is renowned for its labyrinth of footpaths and woodland walks, however the most popular is the 2.4 mile circular route, taking in stunning wild flowers and is suitable for anyone, even those not massively keen on rambling.
