The following cases were heard at Reading and Slough Magistrates’ Courts: 

February 1

SIMON DAVEY, 40, of Kentwood Hill, Tilehurst, admitted three counts of fraud by completing paperwork in an immigration application intending to make a gain of $1,080, falsely telling a man he would purchase tobacco for them, falsely telling a man he would buy theme park tickets worth £200 for them and falsely telling a man he would buy flight tickets worth £250 for them between July 2018 and September 2018 in Staines. Committed to prison for 26 weeks suspended for 24 months. Must take part in 19 rehabilitation activity days and carry out 140 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay compensation of £1,565 and pay costs of £85. 
JAKE LESTER, 37, of Oxford Road, Reading, admitted producing cannabis in Wokingham on September 15, 2020 and assault by beating in Earley on November 11, 2020. Community order made. Requirement to take part in up to 20 rehabilitation activity days. Must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. Must pay a £95 victim surcharge. 

February 2

KIRK TITCOMBE, 43, of Walton Close, Woodley, convicted of using threatening behaviour to cause distress and assault by beating in Woodley on December 8, 2020. Community order made. Must take part in up to five days of rehabilitation activities and carry out 120 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay £75 in compensation and £775 in court fees. 
CAVAN GRUBER, 21, of Mason Street, Reading, admitted racially and religiously aggravated common assault and racially and religiously aggravated harassment on a train to Reading on November 19, 2020. Community order made. Requirement to take part in up to 19 days of rehabilitation activities. Ordered to pay £180 in court fees. 
SEAN TAYLOR, 42, of Buckingham Drive, Emmer Green, convicted of assault by beating, using threatening behaviour to cause harassment and damaging a gate in Reading on September 26, 2020. Community order made. Requirement to take part in up to 15 days of rehabilitation activities and carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay fees of £295. 
GALAN ZAMBO, 42, of South Lake Crescent, Woodley, convicted of assault by beating in Reading on September 26, 2020. Community order made. Requirement to take part in up to 15 days of rehabilitation activities and carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay fees of £295. 
GRANT SAYER, 42, of Donnington Road, Reading, admitted stealing Manuka Honey worth £211 from Holland and Barrett, alcohol worth £300 from Sainsbury’s and meat worth £300 from Marks and Spencer in Didcot on March 19, 2021. Community order made. Ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and pay £150 in compensation. 
LOUISE URWIN, 32, of Donnington Road, Reading, admitted stealing Manuka Honey worth £211 from Holland and Barrett, alcohol worth £300 from Sainsbury’s and meat worth £300 from Marks and Spencer in Didcot on March 19, 2021. Community order made. Ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work and pay £150 in compensation. 
GARY COOKE, 61, of Beatty Drive, Tilehurst, Reading, admitted driving without a licence in Basildon on September 15, 2021. Community order made. Requirement to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work. Must pay £180 in court costs. Banned from driving for 12 months. 
SEAN BLANDFORD, 44, of Freemans Close, Hungerford, convicted of breaching a restraining order, namely sending Facebook messages to a woman between February 4, 2020 and March 4, 2020 in Newbury. Community order made. Requirement to take part in up to 25 rehabilitation activity days and 150 hours of unpaid work. Ordered to pay costs of £770 and a £95 victim surcharge. 

February 4

STEVEN LEE, 36, of Ringwood Road, Tilehurst, admitted two counts of assault by beating on in Reading on December 24, 2021 and breaching a restraining order between November 1, 2021 and December 18, 2021. Committed to person for ten weeks as offence aggravated by defendant’s previous record of offending. Must pay £428 in court fees. 
KRISHNACH CHAP, 37 of Jubilee Square, Reading, convicted of travelling on a railway without having paid a fare in Reading on August 19, 2021. Fined £120, must pay compensation of £10.20 and ordered to pay £214 in court fees. 
EMMA JAMES, 32,of Calver Close, Wokingham, convicted of failing to hand over a rail ticket for inspection in Reading on August 25, 2021. Fined £120, must pay compensation of £3.70 and ordered to pay £214 in court fees. 
STEWART RATCLIFF, 30, of Vernon Crescent, convicted of travelling on a railway without having paid a fare in Windsor and Eton Central on July 21, 2021. Fined £120, must pay compensation of £11.80 and ordered to pay £214 in court fees. 
SHARIF WAHDED, 40, of Caversham Road, Reading, convicted of travelling on a railway without having paid a fare in Reading on August 3, 2021. Fined £120, must pay compensation of £16.10 and ordered to pay £214 in court fees.
