Reading FC fans have outlined their objectives for the planned supporter protest ahead of the club’s 150th anniversary game against Coventry City.

Earlier this week fans from influential support groups including Club 1871 and Elm Park Royals announced the plans for a protest outside the Select Car Leasing Stadium on the day of Reading’s Championship clash with Coventry.

The announcement came after weeks of growing discontent from large swathes of the fanbase who have become frustrated by the off-the-pitch running of the club and the results on it.

However, many fans felt the aims of the protest were not clear, something made evdident in the Chronicle’s recent discussions with supporters from around the Reading community.

In response to the feedback, the organisers of the protest released a second statement on Friday evening outlining their aims for the demonstration.

The statement reveals a three-pronged list of objectives, split into short, medium, and long-term aims.

The short-term aim calls for a “change in management”, the medium-term objective is for the “removal of Kia Joorabchian from the running of the club and a move away from agent/advisor led transfers”. Meanwhile, the long-term aim calls for the club to release a concrete plan from the ownership group as to “how the club intend to operate going forwards”.
