A KNIFEMAN will learn his prison fate next week after being convicted of assault outside a popular town centre pub.

Kevor Shakes, of Kingsley Close, Reading, was found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in relation to an incident outside The Boundary pub on Hosier Street on August 9, 2021.

Hours after the incident, which occurred just after midnight, Police said one person had sustained a non-life-threatening injury believed to have been caused by a bladed article.

Hosier Street was closed off by police tape and officers were spotted searching the scene for evidence.

The 28-year-old had already admitted to possession of a knife before a two-week trial into the incident at Reading Crown Court.

Despite being convicted of assault, Shakes was found not guilty of wounding with intent and unlawful wounding by a jury on Tuesday, February 1, after nine hours and 34 minutes of deliberations.

He will be sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday, February 9.

Shakes will remain in custody until this time.

In November 2021, Shakes was sentenced to twelve weeks behind bars after he was convicted of sharing intimate images of a woman without their consent for the purpose of causing the victim distress.
