Liam Moore has finalised his Reading FC exit, joining Stoke City in a shock swap deal for winger Tom Ince.

Earlier this season Moore expressed his desire to leave and as such he was being stripped of the Royals captaincy in mid-January.

Despite this, it appeared until the early afternoon of transfer deadline day that Moore would finish the season as a Reading player with no viable exit options.

However, with time running short Reading and Stoke agreed on a swap deal that would see Ince arrive at the Select Car Leasing Stadium and Moore head to the Bet365 - both on loan.

Ince has made 11 appearances for Stoke this season but only four of those have been from the start. Meanwhile, Moore has played 17 times for Reading this season but hasn't been seen since the Royals' 1-0 defeat to West Brom in mid-December.

After Moore was stripped of the captaincy it was unclear whether he'd play for the club again so it was likely best for all parties that he departed.

That being said, the lack of defensive reinforcements and the loss of two strikers while brining in none leave Reading in a highly precarious position.
