Update at 12pm January 23: The teenager from Reading arrested on suspicion of causing GBH with intent and dangerous driving has been released on bail.

Police have made two further arrests. An 18-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of a class B drug, possession with intent to supply a class B drug and possession of an offensive weapon. He remains in police custody.

A 17-year-old boy from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, he remains in police custody.

Two teenagers were seriously injured in a shocking late-night attack on Friday night. 

Forensic teams and a specialist police dog unit continue to lead an investigation on Nightingale Avenue, Oxford, more than 12 hours after emergency services initially rushed to the scene.

The male victims, both in their late teens, were assaulted and left seriously injured at around 11.40pm on Friday night.

They were taken to hospital where they remain at this time.

One man, aged 18, from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of causing GBH with intent and dangerous driving.

Releasing fresh details of the incident, detectives are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector James Holden-White, based at Banbury Police Station, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident, or anybody with information, to please come forward.
