A MAN has been arrested after a driver flipped his car after overtaking a cyclist before leaving a bag of cannabis in a hedge.

Police are appealing for more information in relation to an incident on Shaw Road, Newbury at 5.30 pm on January 21.

A man in a car tried to overtake a cyclist between Church Road and Love Lane and ended up crashing his car, flipping it on its roof.

The driver then fled the scene and left a bag of cannabis in a hedge.

A 29-year-old man from Newbury was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and driving while on drugs.

He has now been released under investigation.

The car involved in the incident was a Nissan with the registration plate beginning with YG05.

The cyclist did not sustain any injuries.
