Reading FC manager Veljko Paunovic has finally been handed some positive news on the injury front with midfielder Ovie Ejaria closing in on a return.
The 24-year old has been absent since since the late November defeat to Sheffield United due to a soft-tissue injury and Covid but he could now be back for Saturday's clash with Huddersfield Town.
Speaking after Wednesday's 2-0 defeat to Luton Town, Paunovic said: "Ovie started his training this week. He was recovering from Covid and now hopefully we won’t have any setbacks.
"He’s recovered from the injury, Covid basically covered that time he was injured for. Now we’re building his fitness."
Ejaria has made 14 league apperances this season, scoring twice.
Reading desperately need an injection of energy and brilliance after succumbing to their fourth defeat in their last five Championship matches on Wednesday evening.
In that time they've scored just three goals with Pauovic criticising his side's lack of attacking "courage" after the loss to Luton. Paunovic and Reading fans will be hoping that the return of Ejaria can help solve that particular growing problem.
