The Woodley bungalow that was set alight on Sunday 16 in Fosters Lane lies abandoned and gutted after firefighters spent an 1 hour and 40 minutes extinguishing it. 

Firefighters were called to the house at 1:50pm on Sunday and using three hose reels and breathing apparatus extinguished the fire.

The bungalow which is at the entrance to Fosters Lane has been boarded up, following the fire.

A local resident said: “The house has been deserted for years.”

“Some of the windows were boarded up before the fire however it looks like they have been replaced with new boards.”

The garden surrounding the property is overgrown and unkempt and the house has fallen into a dilapidated state due to disuse over the years.

Following the incident on Fosters Lane, Thames Valley Police launched an arson investigation.

TVP issued a statement saying: "Following an investigation into the suspected arson in Fosters Lane, Woodley, it has been filed pending further evidence coming to light.

"Anyone with information can report it via 101 or online, quoting reference number 43220022192."
