For this week’s nostalgia, we are going back 10 years ago to see what was going on in Reading back in 2012.

One of the features the Chronicle ran a decade ago was showing off all the new born babies that arrived to the world.

Happy 10th birthday to all those who were born at the start of 2012!

One of the biggest family-friendly events from the time took place at Emmer Green Primary School, as a popular musical was brought to life by young performers when they lit up the stage in dazzling outfits.

Multi-coloured ribbons were waved high, as the youngsters from the school paraded around the stage in daisy chain headbands and stripy neckerchiefs, whilst performing the musical of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Youngsters in year three and four were cheered on by their proud parents who sang and danced along with their children throughout the performance.

What made this a unique performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat was that Joseph, was played by a female, than the traditional male.

Then eight-year-old Tara Edwards starred as Joseph, whilst fellow student, George Spooner acted as Jacob in the popular performance.

“All of the children had to audition for their roles by singing and acting, and I think it was great to have a girl in the male role.
