Reading manager Veljko Paunovic has wrung the changes for today’s FA Cup third-round clash with Kidderminster Harriers, making a total of eight from the team that drew 2-2 with Derby County on Monday.
Centre back Tom Holmes, midfielder Tom Dele-Bashiru, and attacker Alen Halilovic are the only Royals to maintain their place with a host of youth players getting an opportunity against National League North Kidderminster.
In goal, Brazilian shot-stopper Rafael Cabral replaces Luke Southwood while Ethan Bristow, Dejan Tetek, and 18-year old debutant Louie Holzman join Tom Holmes in a back four.
Danny Drinkwater is back following a prolonged absence due to injury and Covid, joining Dele-Bashiru in the heart of Paunovic’s midfield while Josh Laurent begins on the bench.
Going forward, Claudio Osorio makes his second Reading start, joining Mamadi Camara and Halilovic behind much-maligned striker George Puscas.
In a welcome boost, midfielder Andy Rinomhota makes his return to the matchday squad after more than four months out of action.
