Reading winger Junior Hoilett has been recognised for his impressive performance in the Royals's 2-2 draw with Derby County, earning a place in the EFL Team of the Week.

The team is comprised of players from the EFL's three professional divisions and Hoilett is one of six Championship players to make it into the side this week.

Returning to the starting XI for the first time in three months on Monday, Hoilett opened the scoring eight minutes from half time in spectacular fashion when he cut inside and curled into the top corner from 25 yards out.

The Canadian then doubled Reading's advantage in the second half, latching onto Tom Holmes' header before chesting down and shooting with enough power to beat Derby goalkeeper Ryan Allsop at his ear post.

Unfortunately for Hoilett and his teammates, Reding conceded twice in the 85th and 91st minutes to turn a near-certain victory into a gutting draw.

But despite the disappointing result, Hoilett's impressive display was a major bright spark as Veljko Paunovic and his side look to rebuild their stuttering season.

Hoilett has made just nine appearances since arriving in Berkshire in the summer but he'll now be looking to string together a run of form. The winger and his team travel to the Midlands on Saturday to face Kidderminster Harriers in the FA Cup Third Round.
