A car crashed through a graveyard near Reading and hit a man and a boy yesterday (Thursday).

The Volvo left the The Street in Stratfield, Mortimer, after the driver, a woman in her forties, suffered a suspected medical episode, according to police.

It veered into St Mary the Virgin Church, hitting the man, in his seventies, who suffered cuts to his body and injured his arm, which required surgery, and the boy suffered minor injuries.

Pictures show the front bumper of a car torn partially off and the windscreen smashed after it came to a halt at around 1.35pm.
