The man accused of killing at least one person in a fire in Reading was produced before a judge in court today (Tuesday).
Hakeem Kigundu, 31, of no fixed address, has been charged with murder and arson in connection with a tragic fire that engulfed Rowe Court, in Grovelands Road, on Wednesday 15 December at around 3am.
One person has been confirmed dead following the inferno at the four-storey block of flats, and two people are missing. Four people were treated at hospital following the incident.

At Reading Crown Court this morning, Kigundu was produced via video link from prison, where he is currently remanded.
Kigundu faced Judge Heather Norton at the preliminary hearing, where future dates and legal issues were discussed.
A provisional trial date has been set for June 7, 2022, which is expected to last around two weeks should it go ahead.

Kigundu has not yet been given an opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty to the charges against him.
The defendant is next due to appear at a pre-trial preparation hearing on February 11, 2022. He has been remanded in custody until that date.
