Will it be a White Christmas in Reading?

The Met Office has released its long-range forecast and it looks like the South and South-West might experience more wintery weather than normal.

While Reading rarely sees its temperatures drop below 2 degrees in December, the "threat of rain or wintery conditions" rises from Wednesday 23 to New Year's Eve.

The weather service has said that during this time stronger winds are possible, especially in the South.

It has also said that we should expect temperatures to be "rather cold with overnight frosts".

While it doesn't look like there will be heavy snow in the last few days of the year, the Met Office has said that there is a continued risk of frost and fog.
