A NEW Turkish fast-food eatery looks set to open in the town centre.
La’De Express is being readied at the top of Market Place opposite Forbury Road and around the corner from the back entrance of Marks and Spencer.
Little is known about the new restaurant, but there are La’De Kitchen restaurants already situated in Pangbourne, Woodley, Newbury and Camberley.
The eateries are family-owned Mediterranean restaurants which “aim to cherish Mediterranean flavours and provide a true taste of our delicious food”, according to their website.
A typical La De menu offers hot meze options, shish dishes, pizzas, casseroles and more.
It is not clear if the smaller Reading restaurant will offer the full menu, but a Facebook post from the new team claimed the store will offer “fast food takeaway as it should be -- divine, excellent quality Mediterranean cuisine, cooked to perfection.”
Pictures show the renovation of the site, which has been empty for a long time.
It is not clear when the restaurant will open, but it is listed as ‘coming soon’ on the La De website.
