A MAN charged with the murder of a Reading pensioner has been told his provisional trial date.
Jacob Trussler, of no fixed abode, was accused of the killing of Elgar Road resident David Allen on December 1.
Mr Allen was reportedly found with stab wounds at his home.
Trussler, who is 37, appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, December 9 after being charged with murder.

He appeared at Reading Crown Court today (December 10) via video link from HMP Wormwood Scrubs in London.
The accused spoke to confirm his name at the start of the hearing, which was presided over by Her Honour Judge Norton.
A provisional date for the trial of Mr Trussler was set for May 16, 2022.

Mr Trussler has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
A tribute to Mr Allen from his family read: "Our Dad, Grandad, Brother and Hero was tragically taken away from us too soon.
"They walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved.
