CCTV images have been released of two men police would like to speak to following a theft in Reading.

At around 11am on Thursday, November 25, a theft took place in Waitrose car park on Oxford Road.

The victim, a woman in her 70s, went to her car to put her shopping away and put her trolley back.

She then said a man shouted to her that she had left something in the trolley.

The victim left her car to check but could see there wasn’t anything there that belonged to her.

Later that evening she noticed her card was missing and called her bank.

Police said two transactions were made on her card by someone else, totalling more than £5,000.

Investigating officer, PC Hayley Broome based at Reading police station, said: We are releasing these CCTV images as we believe these individuals may have vital information that could help us with the investigation.

“Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43210536531.

“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or via their website.”
