Best-selling author, Wendy Holden, visited Wycombe High School at the end of November to talk about her new book.
The bookworm spoke to the students about 'Born Survivors', which tells the compelling story of three babies born to mothers in wartime concentration camps.
Wendy was joined by one of the child holocaust-survivors featured in the book, Eva Clarke.

Speaking at the school, Wendy said: “I came across the story by chance and I thought there has never been a book written about babies who had survived the Holocaust and that’s what set me on my path, and it’s also where I met Eva.
Eva then added: “My mother was always able to talk to me about her wartime experiences and she started telling me in tiny snippets as I started asking her when I was six or seven, and that’s because I didn’t have any grandparents, uncles, aunts or cousins around the place.
“So, she would tell me in tiny snippets so that I could cope with the details and as I grew older, as I kept asking her questions, the answers became more detailed.”
A school spokesperson continued: “It was a deeply moving and powerful talk and the 360 students in the hall were clearly fascinated by Eva’s compelling story.”
