SOME shoppers in Reading are yet to get on board with new mask rules as changes came in yesterday for customers to cover their faces, according to a snapshot survey by The Reading Chronicle.
We observed 50 shoppers emerging from a well-known store in Broad Street, Reading on Wednesday, December 1, a day after facial coverings made a requirment - unless people were exempt - and found more than 10% didn't wear masks.

Seven people walked through the doors with nothing to cover their face.
A few shoppers were seen wearing a sunflower lanyard, which raises awareness of hidden disabilities and shows you're exempt of face coverings.

Other shoppers, such as Rosalind Parry and Colin Norris, said they were happy to carry on wearing masks, at least for the time being, despite the law change - as they felt it was the "right thing to do".
