A TERRIFYING attack led to a man in hospital after three men hit him with a piece of wood.

Between the hours of 10pm and midnight yesterday (November 25) a man was walking along Oxford Road, Reading.

The victim in his 40s was approached by around three to four men near Brock Barracks.

The culprits aged in their 30s attacked the victim with a large piece of wood found from a nearby skip.

Police gave their descriptions of them all wearing white clothes, with jeans and coats.

The victim suffered a cut to the back of his head and a fractured elbow and was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

He has since been discharged.
