Damage and travel disruption caused by high winds are to be expected in Reading on Saturday, the Met Office has warned.

Trees and temporary structures could be damaged as well as tiles blown from roofs, according to the forecasters.

Power cuts may occur alongside rail cancellations and road closures.

Temperatures will be around 3C and 4C but due to the wind, the day will feel more like -2C to -3C.

Tonight (Thursday) will be clear, dry and frosty, with temperatures of -3C.

Friday is expected to be a mostly cloudy day with outbreaks of showery rain, heavy at times, although some brighter spells are possible in the afternoon.

Saturday will be very windy and cold with rain clearing by the afternoon, before a dry Sunday with light winds.
