THOUSANDS of pounds have been pocketed by some of the county's MPs on top of their yearly salaries.

From having second jobs to receiving gifts and hefty sums from donors, some of our MPs have seen massive amounts paid to them in the past year.

Today, The News has lifted the lid on the figures behind our politicians which have revealed some rather interesting results.

This comes as what politicians earn in their spare time has come under intense scrutiny after it emerged Conservative MP Sir Geoffrey Cox earned about £900,000, last year.

In September 2021, James Sunderland accepted tickets for Goodwood Revival when just three months earlier he had pleaded with parliament for it to be authorised as a pilot event.

He said during a parliamentary debate on June 16 "when the list of authorised pilots is released, it must include flagship global events such as the Euros, Wimbledon, the British Grand Prix, the Chelsea Flower Show and the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The tickets were gifted to him by The Goodwood Estate Company to the value of £1,440.

The entry also says on July 18, 2021, Mr Sunderland accepted two tickets to attend the British Formula 1 GP at Silverstone, valued at £1,516.80.

You will also have spotted that none of these costs are attributable to the taxpayer and that I do not earn any money from consultancy, lobbying, contract work or second jobs".
