SHOCKING pictures show a police presence around a house where a man was found stabbed in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The victim, a man in his thirties, was found at the junction of Brayford Road and Lulworth Road in Whitley and he is currently in hospital receiving treatment.

A 33-year-old man from Reading has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He is currently in police custody at this time.

Pictures from the scene show a police car and police tape outside the Whitley house.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Maggie Bruce, of Reading CID, said the incident was not linked to a stabbing incident in Tilehurst which resulted in the death of a 22-year-old man last week.

She added: “We are in the early stages of this investigation into a man who has been stabbed.

“I would appeal to anyone or saw or heard anything in the vicinity of Brayford Road and Lulworth Road last night or in the early hours of today, to contact the police.

“If anyone has any footage, whether dashcam, doorbell camera, CCTV or mobile phone, from the area then also please come forward.
