The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates' Court

September 2

ZBIGINEW KIELPINSKI, 63, of Norden Road, Reading, convicted of assault by beating and criminal damage to property, namely a door, in Reading on November 4 and November 1, 2020. Conditional discharge for 12 months. Must pay £100 in compensation and £372 in court fees. 

September 3

JAMES PIPE, 43, of Mayfield Drive, Reading, admitted driving dangerously, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and failing to stop after a road accident on Caversham Road in Reading on June 23, 2021. Committed to prison for 26 weeks as offence was an ‘unprovoked attack of a serious nature.’ Must pay £250 in compensation. 
LAURA REEVE, 36, of Shipridge Drive, Reading, convicted of failing to give information related to the identification of a driver in Banbury on February 5, 2021. Fined £300 and ordered to pay £134 in court fees.
GURDEEP KARWAL, 43, of Stanhope Road, Reading, convicted of using racially and religiously aggravated threatening behaviour with intent to cause a person to believe unlawful violence would be used against them on July 28, 2020. Conditional discharge for 24 months. Must pay £792 in court fees. 

September 6

GRANT MILLS, 36, of Frilsham Road, Southcote, Reading admitted possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, namely a tyre iron on Frilsham Road, Reading, on April 19, 2021. Committed to prison for 35 weeks as offence was committed during operational period of a suspended sentence. Must pay £128 victim surcharge. 
RICHARD BACON, 47, of Oxford Road, Reading, admitted breaching supervision requirements imposed following release from prison. Fined £50. 

September 7

ASIF FAROOQ, 44, of Kensington Road, Reading, admitted six counts of theft from a shop, namely alcohol, razors, perfume, a two-way radio, and power banks from Tesco, Superdrug, and WH Smith between January 30, 2021 and May 26, 2021. Committed to prison for 18 weeks as ‘defendant had a flagrant disregard for court orders’. Must pay compensation of £390 and £298 in court fees. 

September 9 

MANUEL CAIERO, 53, of Bullingham Close, Whitley, convicted of failing to provide a blood sample when requested by a police constable at Loddon Valley Police Station on January 1, 2020. Community order made. Requirement to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work. Banned from driving for 18 months. Must pay £245 in court fees.  

September 10

KYLE GARRICK, 32, of Norwood Road, Reading, convicted of criminal damage to property, namely a phone to the value of £720, and assault by beating in Reading on January 2, 2021. Committed to prison for 16 weeks suspended for 18 months as offence was carried out in the presence of children. Ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. Restraining order made barring contact with the victim. Must pay compensation of £720 and court fees of £775. 
COLINS SITEI, 25, of South Lake Crescent, Woodley, convicted of failing to provide a breath test when requested by a police constable in Earley on September 5, 2020. Admitted driving without insurance on September 4, 2020 in Reading. Fined £250 and must pay costs of £534. Banned from driving for 14 months. 
JONATHON WHITNALL, 46, of Whitley Wood Road, Reading, admitted criminal damage to property, namely a hand-sanitising unit and stealing six bottles of wine worth £66.49 at Shell on Basingstoke Road in Reading on March 30, 2021. Community order made. Requirement to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work. Must pay compensation of £200.
