Reading manager Veljko Paunovic believes his team "gave" Blackburn Rovers both goals at Ewood Park which saw the hosts win 2-0.

Sam Gallagher and Tyrhys Dolan's second-half strikes were enough for Tony Mowbray's Blackburn to pick up the three points

Both goals came from Reading giving the ball, leaving Paunovic to regret a disastrous three-minute spell.

The boss said: "Everything was under our control, especially in the first half.

"Even in the moments conceded the two goals, it happened with unnecessary giveaways.

"It happens in football, you have to be better in coping with counterattacks.

"It is difficult to accept today that we didn't get a result and more than anything I'm disappointed we didn't score a goal because I think we played very good football."

"It's a small squad and most of the guys are carrying the burden of the whole season so far, and yes is still early in the season but we all know how hard and demanding the league is so I think there is a component of fatigue in today execution.

"This team is capable of winning games, having good runs and bouncing back which is what we need now to bounce back immediately.

"We have a full week of training and preparation for Bournemouth which is a big game so we're looking forward to it."

Paunovic contued: "Consistency is the hallmark of the whole league.

"The Championship is wrapped in consistency and if you are capable of recognising those moments when you drop and you manage those moments and cope with you will get better results.

"Unfortunately, today it wasn't the case, we just gave away the two goals which we created for them.

"That is something we will have to work on and fix and address internally."

The returning Femi Azeez limped off injured holding his hamstring toward the end of the first half.

It was his first start since August as the 20-year-old replaced George Puscas who dropped to the bench.

Paunovic added: "Femi proved this season he can be very useful for the team. He scored two goals and was very effective.

"For him personally, it is very hard and for the team because he is a very important piece for us."
