A missing cat has been reunited with his Reading family today after almost two years.

Timon didn’t come home in December 2019 and after months of searching his family feared their son, who was born the following June, would never meet him.

Following numerous false sightings of the 12-year-old tabby, owner Maha Urbanski had almost given up hope – until his fluffy face appeared on Facebook on Wednesday.

“It was quite a shock. I was quite overwhelmed with emotion. It was a very lovely feeling because it was very devastating to lose him -we’d had him for 7 years,” said Maha, from Woodley.

Timon had been spotted with a leg injury and a good Samaritan brought him to Companion Care Vets in Winnersh.

They appealed for the owner to come forward and after the post was shared in Lost and Found Fur Babies In Wokingham borough, Maha knew it was him “It was wonderful to hear the news and then eventually seeing him and realising that’s definitely him – it was just amazing.”

Timon has been recovering in the vets until today, when Maha took him home to meet two new members of the family – her son and 16-month old cat Tallis.

“It’s important for us that he grows up with animals so that’s when we got another cat, and we thought when Timon does come we’ll have two cats and that will be great."

Timon will be relaxing in the spare bedroom until he can be slowly introduced to Tallis.
