A MAN who is currently serving a lengthy prison sentence for a violent crime will not get an extension on his time behind bars despite being involved in a fight at Reading’s Five Guys restaurant.

Keone Williams, who is currently in jail in Aylesbury, was just 17 years old when the affray incident occurred on New Year’s Eve in December 2018.

And one month prior to the incident, the 20-year-old was involved in another group fight in Reading.

Almost three years after the incidents, Williams was today sentenced at Reading Crown Court.

But he watched the hearing via video link from behind bars after he was handed a 6.5 year prison term for a conviction of grievous bodily harm he received in the intervening years.

Sentencing, Her Honour Judge Nott said of the Five Guys incident: “You shouldn’t have been doing that in a restaurant on New Year’s Eve where other people were going about their business trying to have a good night.”

The judge added: “You are still 20 years old and you are going to be spending a substantial part of your future in custody.

“I’m not going to add to that. That would be unfair.”

Judge Nott handed Williams a 12-month prison sentence to be served concurrently with his current term.

Two other men, Preston Francis, 21, of Alphington Road, and Randino Boreland, 29, of Lyndhurst Road, Tilehurst, were handed 18-month community orders for their involvement in the November affray incident.

They were both told to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work, too.

The trio were sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday, October 20.
