The Met Office has issued two yellow weather warnings for Reading, with heavy rain and thunderstorms expected today (October 20) and tomorrow.

There is a small chance that homes be flooded or damaged by lightning strikes, hail or strong winds, according to the weather forecaster.

Disruption is expected to cars, buses and trains with rainfall leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

The Met Office reports their there is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.

A mainly cloudy start with limited brighter spells, as early rain in the east clears away. Showers pushing eastwards through the morning, some of these heavy, with a risk of hail, thunder and gusty winds. Showers becoming more isolated later. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Friday should be bright with sunny spells and isolated showers with winds easing.

A mild Saturday is expected to be dry with spells of sunshine, but heavy rain will return on Sunday.
