A photographer took some stunning shots of a vintage funfair in a Reading park on Sunday.

Carters Steam Fair, the ‘largest travelling vintage funfair’ in the world, transformed Prospect Park with its rides dating as far back as the 1890s.

Photos show classic red, yellow and blue striped tents and rides and the bright red and yellow ‘Carters’ logo.

It was the first time the fair toured since 2019, after last year’s family fun was cancelled due to Covid-19.

Attendees were treated to a free fireworks display, rock’n’roll music, steam engines, a lilting fairground organ and the aroma of doughnuts and candy floss.
