A WOMAN has been attacked for her handbag in an alleyway in Goring.
Thames Valley Police said the victim, a 48-year-old woman, was waling through the alleyway between Farm Road an Lockstile Way when she realised someone was behind her.
The attacker then tried to grab her handbag and pull it from the woman, but when he was unsuccessful he punched the woman in the back and ran off.
It happened about 7.10pm yesterday on October 16.
The offender is described as a white man, 5ft 8ins to 6ft tall with dark eyes. He was wearing a black hooded jumper and black snood.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Richard Whitcombe based at Abingdon police station, said: “This was a distressing incident for the victim in this case.
“We would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anything or has information about this incident.
