CONKERS are falling and the leaves are turning brown - it's officially Autumn and half-term week.

And what better way to celebrate the spooky season than to pick your own pumpkin.

Children love to carve jack o lanterns and choose which size pumpkin to cut out.

There are plenty of pumpkin patches near Berkshire for just that and where the whole family can have fun too.

Here are some of the places in Berkshire where you can pick your own pumpkin from a patch.

If you live in Maidenhead or Slough then these farms will be the best places to visit for pumpkins.

Grab your Halloween pumpkin from October 16 where you will need to purchase a voucher online in advance of your visit £1.50 per person for adults and children.

The voucher allows access to the pumpkin fields to choose your pumpkins, charged at 90p per kg and get some great Autumnal photos.

Wasing PYO Pumpkins & Woodland Trail

To celebrate this new crop and for the first time in Wasing Estate’s history, visitors are invited to a Halloween event taking place during half term from 22nd – 31st October 2021 from 9am to 4pm daily.

Children can follow a magical little trail through the Estate’s stunning autumnal woodland and along the way, encounter upon some enchanting creatures inspired by those residents in the trees and fields.

Wasing is home to a very special nocturnal resident - the Myotis Nattereri, affectionately known as the Natterer's Bat.

The estate has grown traditional and much-loved Jack O’Lantern variety, and with its bright orange skin, it’s perfect for both carving and making delicious homemade recipes including pumpkin pie and soup.

Tickets are £1.50 for adults and children aged 2 and over. Under 2s are free.

Tolhurst Organic

Families are welcome to visit Tolhursts squash and pumpkin festival on Sunday, October 10.

Simple organic food and drinks will be available from the farm, along with activities for the children and music for all.

You can even carve your own pumpkin and tickets cost £5.
