Royals manager Veljko Paunovic has delivered an injury update ahead of Reading's home clash with Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The side have been depleted with injuries since the season began, with several first-team stars ruled out of action for lengthy spells already.

Speaking ahead of the visit of Boro, Paunovic confirmed that both Tom Holmes and Michael Morrison are now also facing spells on the sidelines.

On Morrison, Paunovic said that his injury was the 'biggest blow' his side faced this week, confirming that the centre-back sustained the injury just minutes before the final whistle at Craven Cottage last weekend.

The Serbian manager said that Morrison 'may be a long-term' absentee.

On Holmes, the Royals boss confirmed that he was still being assessed, but the injury was 'significant'.

No time frame was given for a return for either, although Paunovic said that Holmes is the likelier of the two to return first.

Goalkeeper Rafael is available for selection on Saturday and midfielder Andy Rinomhota has returned to full training, although he is being monitored ahead of the game at the weekend.
