A RAPE investigation has been launched following reports of an incident near Reading Minster last night.
Forensic officers were scene scouring the grounds of St Mary's church in the early hours of the morning (Sunday, September 12).
A police cordon has been in place today, which blocked access into the grounds from Gun Street, St Mary's Butts and Chain Street.

It comes after police were called to reports of a rape near Reading Minster at about 3.35am.
The 22-year-old from Nottingham was arrested and remains in custody.

Images taken by Paul King show forensics scouring the church grounds as part of the rape investigation.
Forensics were seen looking through the bins and combing the grounds where the rape took place.
