A PARK has re-opened having been cordoned off by police tape late last night. 

Beresford Road recreation ground, just off Cow Lane, was still closed off this morning. 

But the park is no longer ringfenced with residents free to use it.

Posts from residents on social media suggest the cordon was in place from around 10.30 pm on Friday, September 10.

An eyewitness told the Chronicle it was still a restricted area at around 11 am, however. 

The eyewitness also spotted a police car near to the site.

It is not clear why the park was closed off, however. Thames Valley Police have been contacted for comment.

The Chronicle spoke to employees Ten10 Barbershop at 1pm after the cordon was lifted. 

One eyewitness said they saw police officers searching the park.

Another said they saw five police cars driving away from the scene in the early afternoon.
