A CYCLIST has been rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash with a moped in Reading.

The cyclist, a man aged in his sixties, collided with the Honda moped outside th BP Petrol Station on Oxford Road.

It happened on Tuesday, August 31, about 2.15pm.

Thames Valley Police said the man sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is now in a stable condition.

The moped rider was also injured in the crash did not require hospital treatment.

Investigating officer PC Jamie Payne, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Three Mile Cross, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident whereby a cyclist has sustained life threatening injuries after this collision.

“I would ask that anyone who was in or near the area in which this collision took place, to get in touch with us if you saw anything or have any information on it.

“Also, if any motorists in the area that have dash-cam please check as to whether anything significant was caught, as it could help our investigation."
