A group of travellers have reportedly set up their homes in a Reading primary school field.

Pictures show 11 caravans and at least six other vehicles parked on Alfred Sutton Primary School playing field, in Wokingham Road.

The new school term is set to begin on Friday.

A spokesperson for Reading Borough Council said: “We are aware of the encampment and have visited the site.

"We have also been in discussions with the land owner and our police partners for the most appropriate resolution to the encampment.”
